Class #35 – Up and Down Storage Basket

Start with a filled-in base technique with pairs of flat oval filler stakes and 3⁄8” flat stakes. Traditional Over/Under Weave with 1/4″ flat natural reed. Introduce 4 deep colors with Triple Four Rod Wale in natural and dyed round reed to create a rope-like texture and 1/4″ flat dyed overlays with emphasis on color placement in this unique up and down design. Embellish with horizontal dyed overlays as the Diamond focal point. Emphasis on shaping a rectangle basket from base to rim with crisp corners. Finish with 3/4″ wide red wine or blue leather handle, thick as a fine leather belt.
