Class #18 – Exploring Patterning on Baskets II

Students will begin this class by weaving the base of a rectangular splint-style basket from natural rattan. The sides of the basket will become your canvas for the use of dyed overlays and/or weavers. Several possibilities will be given and discussed and you will choose one for your class basket. Students will also be taught free-hand shaping techniques for more control of the shape of your baskets.
