Class #38 – Sea Glass Basket

The Sea Glass Basket has an unusual technique as the basket is started at the top and finished with the weaving of the base. A prepared top hoop (formed and dried) is provided to students. The stakes are scalloped and added to the top hoop. The siding is woven and then pairs of the top of the stakes are folded across the bottom of the basket. Then bottom weavers are roped and woven across the base to fill in. The basket is completed with a roped handle across the basket. It would be a lovely basket to use for collecting sea glass on the beach.
