Class #39 – Herringbone Stripe Market Basket – 2 SPOTS LEFT

The splint-style market basket teaches interesting techniques using mostly one-size material. Students start by weaving a checker base and framing it with a row of twining. After several rows using natural reed, students can change to weaving with Japanese cane which makes a herringbone stripe. You will also learn a method of shaping without using a mold. The basket is completed with a wood or leather handle, flat-oval rims, and single lashing. A very useful and interesting basket!
