Class #13 – Simply Summer

This basket makes a nifty small tote or purse. Using a double-slotted oak wooden base, we will insert stakes and weave a simple inner basket of dyed 3/8 FF reed. This becomes the mold for the outer basket. Two colors of stakes will be inserted on the outside and the basket is continuously woven with 4 mm Hamburg cane. The twill creates an unusual pattern. An oak handle will be inserted at the top. Twill experience and twill pattern reading are a must.

Tools needed

Bring usual basket tools including angle cutters, small and larger packing tools, towel, small and large clips, spray bottle, cutting board, scraper, and any other tools you generally use.
