Class #29 – Irish Sciob
This classic Irish potato straining basket, made of unpeeled willow, starts with a large round base with an unusual weave in the middle of the paired base. A ring of peeled willow is included in the base weaving for contrast. Staking up is followed by bottom waling. The short siding is completely woven in three rod waling. A rod border completes this sturdy basket. It is a lovely basket to hold fruit on a table.
