Class #31 – Tapestry with Plant Fiber

Plant fiber tapestries are woven over willow rods that are inserted into a 12 x 12-inch pine frame. This course allows for more creativity as students will choose which plant fibers they will use and in which order. Siberian iris, day lily, crocosmia, grasses, and various tree barks will be provided.
Techniques include installing the willow rods into the pre-drilled, prepared frame, flat weaving, twining, and other weaving techniques, such as cording and 3-rod wales if more texture is desired.
