Class #36 – Oval Picnic Basket

When you make this useful oval basket, you will learn many basic wicker techniques, including working with a Williamsburg “D” handle. Students will learn how to split spokes and chase weave an oval base. After adding side spokes, the basket will be upset with a 3-rod wale. The side of the basket is woven with double oval reed for strength and a smooth finish, inside and out. The basket is completed with a traditional 4 rod border
