Class #43 – Pack Basket – Sightseer and Baby

Weave two Adirondack Pack Baskets patterned from Traditional Packs made in and iconic to the Adirondack Mountains of NY. Sightseer is a utilitarian pack and Baby is a decorative pack. Students have a choice of webbing or leather harness, made by Linda. Many basic techniques are used to weave including plain weave, continuous weave, cutting and tucking, and lashing. The oak handle for Sightseer is custom-made for Linda. There is extra concentration on shaping while weaving this unique shape. Work with a draw knife and shave horse for the rims and skids.
