Class #51 – Spanish Dreams

A lovely basket with Spanish willow techniques. A small round base is woven, followed by staking up in multiples of four rods. These stakes become the side weavers which are woven through back to the base to create a foot wale. Controlled and careful shaping of the sets of rods is essential.

Sharp pruning shears; a sharp knife; a bodkin or awl; a rapping iron or spoke weight; a spray bottle; a rigid 12 inch ruler or a folding carpenters rule; an old bath/beach towel to cover at least 5 feet in length.
